On June 23, Commander the Ven. Jennifer Gosse-Vingerhoeds was elected and confirmed as Bishop-elect of the Anglican Military Ordinariate of the Canadian Armed Forces. The Bishop Ordinary serves as the spiritual head and pastor to members of the Anglican Church of Canada serving in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Bishop-elect Gosse-Vingerhoeds is currently command chaplain for the Canadian Army and advisor to the Chaplain General. She became a priest in 1998, beginning her ordained ministry in the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador. She joined the Canadian Armed Forces as chaplain in 2007 and has since been posted geographically six times in positions at three ranks. She has served as honorary assistant in the Parishes of Merrickville and Oxford in the Diocese of Ontario since 2023.
Bishop-elect Gosse-Vingerhoeds will be consecrated and installed on September 15 at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa.
